Note from Jed's Desk (#15)

Posted by Jed Mullenix on

Harbor,

Generosity Weekend was an incredible success! We can’t wait to celebrate and thank God together for the hours and dollars that were given to further the causes of Christ in our communities and around the world! If you participated with us last weekend in through service or generosity, thank you!

If you didn’t have the opportunity to join us, there is still one more opportunity! This Sunday, we will be participating in a park cleanup with the Lowell Parks and Trust Conservation. Join us on Sunday at 10:30 at 51 Davidson St, Lowell MA.

In the weeks ahead, we will enter into our summer worship-gathering schedule. Don’t miss a couple of changes and opportunities.

  1. Saturday night worship & BBQ – This Saturday evening, June 6, is our final Saturday evening worship gathering until after Labor Day! Join us at 5pm for worship followed by an all-church BBQ. The BBQ is FREE, but if you’d like to give a donation for the food, all donations will go to our middle and high school students to help them prepare for their summer camping trip.
  2. Summer Schedule – Beginning June 14th, we will be offering our regular worship gatherings at 9 & 10:30. As our 10:30 service tends to be full week-to-week, please consider joining us through the summer for the 9am gathering if it works for your personal or family schedule! By doing so, you’ll help us to continue offering an open seat to every person who walks through our doors!

This weekend, we will begin a new series, Fix Your Thoughts. The author of the New Testament letter called Hebrews encourages us with the following words.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.” Hebrews 12:1-3

Harbor...we look forward to seeing you this weekend! As you make plans for the weekend, consider inviting a friend to join you for a worship gathering!
