Note from Jed's Desk (#12)

Posted by Jed Mullenix on

Harbor,

Easter weekend was an incredible joy-filled celebration and we want to thank each of you for helping make every moment memorable!

From the front of the house to the back, so many of you gave hours and energy to make Harbor a community that is warm, welcoming, and committed to Helping People Find Their Way Back to God. Thank you for serving joyfully and faithfully!

Thank you to those of you who took seriously the call to invite friends and family members into the celebration! Our prayer is that God used the weekend to stir hearts with the beautiful news of Christ crucified and raised to life.

In the weeks ahead, there are several ways for you to get involved in our community, whether for the first time or in a more meaningful way.

  1. Group Link: This weekend at all three worship gatherings, you will be able to meet some of Harbor’s small group leaders and sign up to participate in a group for the spring season. Journey Groups are a vital part of our community, which is why we encourage everyone attending Harbor to come alongside others in a group to share life, study Scripture, pray for one another, and serve together in the community.
  2. Discover Harbor: Our next Discover Harbor is on April 19th after the 10:30 worship gathering. Discover Harbor is a roundtable environment where you can meet some of our leaders, staff, and volunteers; learn about our history, mission, and vision for the future; and find out how you can be a part of what God is doing in and through this community. Lunch and childcare provided!
  3. Give Generously: If Harbor is your ‘home’ please prayerfully partner with us financially. Every dollar you invest is a direct investment in another person’s life. To find out more about generosity and three easy ways to invest in Harbor's mission, go to www.harborofhope.org/give
  4. Volunteer: Harbor’s ministry continues because of the countless volunteers who, week-in-and-week-out, serve out of their giftedness and passion! From the front of the house to the back, our volunteers are some of the most committed, sincere, fun people I know! As Harbor continues to grow, our volunteer needs and opportunities expand as well. Please consider joining one of the following teams:
    • Café, Kid’s Harbor, First Impressions Team, Back of the House, Communion Preparation or Clean Up...

Harbor, we’re grateful for you and your partnership in ministry. This weekend, we’ll begin a four-week series called Victory, in which we’ll consider the implications of Jesus’ death and resurrection for our day-to-day lives! Together, we'll look at Romans 8:1-4 and the truth that in Christ, we have Victory over Condemnation.

Each week, we’ll be memorizing a verse together as a way of taking God’s truth down deep into our lives. I’ve included our first verse below. Consider reading it several times a day and as you do, ask God to make this promise real to your heart.

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1

I’ll see you this weekend...
