Harbor Monthly: Update From Kelly

Posted by Kelly Tibbitts on

Dear Harbor Family,

What a year 2016 has been! A lot has happened over the past 12 months, but one thing has remained the same: God has provided for us. Thank you for being a part of Harbor’s family and for your generosity. You have given your time, your finances, your gifts, your talents, and your love, and because of your generosity, you have Helped People Find Their Way Back to God!

This year, we’ve been able to love our neighbors, both locally and globally, better than we ever have before. We began our global partnership through Food for the Hungry by sponsoring children in El Mirador and starting the planning stages of a mission trip in 2017. We were able to support our local partners (Living Waters Center for Hope, the Wish Project) through Love Week and Generosity Weekend. We mailed out over 260 shoeboxes full of gifts to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. And we sponsored over fifty families this year through partnering with the Wish Project for their annual Magic of Christmas, which provides gifts to people in need. Harbor truly is a church that Gives Freely! Thank you!

We’ve also seen some changes in leadership at Harbor this year. We said goodbye as one of our beloved pastors, Jeff Oakes, and his family were called to serve at a church plant in Quincy. Since then, we have seen many leaders step into new roles on our staff team, our elder team, and our various ministry teams, and we celebrate that! It’s been so wonderful to see people step into the roles they were created for, and the roles they’re passionate about. Please continue to pray for us as we grow spiritually and work together to serve our church community!

Even with all these changes, our leadership’s wish is the same as it’s always been: to see people come to know Jesus. And we’ve seen it happen this year! Our church family has grown in many areas. We are encouraged to see more and more people joining Journey Groups, as well as getting involved with our ministry teams.

We as Harbor’s leadership want to continue to Help People Find Their Way Back to God, but we can’t do it on our own. We rely on God’s provision, first and foremost, and also rely on the generosity of the people who call Harbor home. Would you take a moment to pray for the finances of our church? If you would like to give a year-end gift and help us to continue our mission into 2017, you can give online at harborofhope.org/give or send a check to 51 Middlesex Street, Unit 101, North Chelmsford, MA 01863.

We’re so thankful for you, and we’re excited about what God has in store for our church community in the coming year. He has done great things at Harbor, and we are excited to see what He will do through this community that continues to Live Fully, Love Deeply and Give Freely.

We wish you and your loved ones a blessed and Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
