Christmas Film

"Hope Has Come"

Harbor, our leadership and staff want to wish you a joy and hope-filled Christmas. As you gather together with family and friends, may you remember and celebrate the gift of Christ, and may the reality of his great love lead you toward adoration and gratitude.

We are honored to share this film with you. We pray that it is one simple way among many to reflect on the arrival of Christ by setting our hearts and minds on Him. Following the film, we have suggested a few ways for you to personalize the biblical story of Christmas and celebrate the gift of Jesus.

Merry Christmas.

After you watch the video...
Read Luke 2:1-20

Questions:

  1. What is most surprising to you about the Christmas narrative, and what does it show you about God?
  2. If you have young children, invite them to share what part of the Christmas story they find most interesting or exciting, and why.

Take a quiet moment to thank God for the gift of Jesus, the Son of God. In humility, he came to us as a child. In obedience to the Father, He died for us as a man. In glory he was raised from the dead. And now, He lives with us by His Spirit. Christmas reminds us that we can rest in the goodness and faithfulness of Jesus.

Close in prayer.

(If helpful, we've included a simple prayer for you to voice to God.)

Father, thank you for the gift of Christmas and for these moments of gladness, joy and celebration. Tonight, we are reminded of your goodness. You came for us, and we are grateful. Tonight, we rest in the truth that you came to bring us what we needed most - grace, forgiveness, peace, and hope. We rest in the truth that through Jesus' death, we can stand confidently in your presence! We want to live our lives for you…so, we rejoice in the truth that you live with us by your Spirit. Now, please fill our hearts with your love, comfort us in our sadness, and pour your joy into our lives as we celebrate these moments together. We pray all of these things in your name Jesus, Amen!
